Financing Your Care
Reverie Mental Health is happy to accept some insurance and offer a managed sliding scale.
The Benefits of Private Pay
Have you noticed your medical visits seem to be getting shorter and more rushed?
Insurance companies incentivize shorter appointment times when they determine their reimbursement rates for various appointment lengths and complexities associated with a visit. But shorter visits are bad for everyone: clinicians feel rushed, critical pieces of information may get missed, and follow-ups are only focused on medication side effects.
Insurance companies will sometimes decline to cover the cost of your visit unless a certain type of diagnosis is made by the treating clinician. This can result in patients being stuck with a bill they didn’t expect or put pressure on a clinician to put a diagnosis in the medical record to ensure they are reimbursed by a patient’s insurance company (which may or may not be ethical).
Reverie Mental Health values your time, your connection, and your privacy. There will never be a surprise bill, an errant diagnosis, or a disclosure of your medical records to your insurance company through fee-for-service care because we are transparent about our fees and do not need to send records to your insurer for review if they are not covering the cost of the visit.
Sliding Scale Payment Options
Reverie Mental Health is committed to ensuring people from all social/economic classes have access to quality mental health care. Following an economic justice model of sliding scale, we have created three tiers to help you decide what payment amount makes sense based on your financial situation.
Every point in a tier's description need not apply - choose whichever tier is the closest representation of your situation on average.

Accepting Insurance to Improve Access to Care
We are now contracting with a few insurance companies because we want anyone who needs mental health care to have access to it. We will continue to work hard to ensure the quality of care does not change, but acknowledge that insurance companies incentivize quantity over quality.
Forms, reports, and letters required for work, disability, etc. will be billed at $50 per 15 minute increment. This fee is not billable to insurance and will be sent directly to the patient.
As with all things, this is subject to change, and current and prospective patients will be updated if this changes in the future.
Insurance
Insurance based payment is best for individuals who have health insurance that we are in-network with, who do not mind if their insurance company sees their mental health records, or who do not mind if their insurance company limits the amount of visits.
Reverie Mental Health is in-network with the following insurance companies:
- United HealthcareStatus: Accepting
- AetnaStatus: Accepting
- BlueCross BlueShieldStatus: Accepting
- Tricare (HNFS)Status: Accepting
